General Information

GDC was founded in 2002 by local parents who wanted a homegrown, high-level dance studio in the La Canada Foothills. Looking for a healthy after school and weekend program for both boys and girls is a constant challenge for parents. GDC’s programs are designed to foster healthy activities for children and adolescents alike, in a location close to home.

In addition to encouraging our young dancers in the community, GDC will be offering a variety of classes designed especially for adult women and men. We at GDC recognize that a professional or college career is not the goal of every dancer. In appreciation of this, we hope to provide dancers of all ages an opportunity to participate, enjoy and engage in the creativity and experience of dance no matter what the individual goals may be while at the same time offering instruction that meets the standards of conservatory dance training and experience.

Mission Statement

Our Mission is dedicated to the development of talent and character of all the children, teens, and adults who come to our studio. Our faculty and staff will strive to challenge our dancers and ourselves to meet the highest standards of accomplishment possible through artistic training and education. We will pursue this level of excellence by creating a positive, productive, and age appropriate atmosphere where a healthy appreciation of the arts can be nurtured and developed. One of our goals will be to promote and create performances that will enrich our students and inspire those around them. By setting these high goals and putting forth these efforts we hope to serve the community by educating and developing dancers of all ages to become actively responsible and knowledgeable patrons of the performing arts.

The Studio

Our studio located at 4514 Angeles Crest Highway has been under construction for eight months and will be open for dancers in July of 2003. We have completely remodeled the interior of the building and re-landscaped the outside and provided for handicapped access. The new floor is a state of the art 4-inch spring floor, specifically made for dancing. This type of floor minimizes foot discomfort and fatigue. It actually gives when you jump on it!
